About This Course
Join Cheryl Day for a two-day baking course on making our favorite classic pies and cakes. Cheryl’s love of collecting classic American cookbooks has been years in the making. Cheryl will guide you through making some of the beloved recipes in the American baking canon from cookies, pies, cakes to cake decorating, holiday recipes, too. You’ll learn many tips and techniques in cake decorating such as reverse creaming, fraisage and buttercreams. This course is taught in collaboration with The Bread Bakers Guild of America.
About Chef Cheryl Day
Cheryl Day is a New York Times bestselling cookbook author, a James Beard Award semifinalist for Outstanding Baker, a self-taught scratch baker, and an entrepreneur. With her husband, Griffith Day, she is a cofounder of the Back in the Day Bakery in Savannah, Georgia, established in 2002 where they’ve built a loyal local and national following, and have become adored for their down-home American baking style.

Cheryl is a cofounder of Southern Restaurants for Racial Justice and a founding member of the leadership committee for the James Beard Foundation Investment Fund for Black and Indigenous Americans. Cheryl lives with Griff, her baking soul mate; Story, their beloved dog; and a vast collection of vintage cookbooks in Savannah.
