Delicious butterscotch morsels in a fudgy brown sugar bar.
One 8" x 8" pan
1/2 cup [113g] (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1 cup [213g] firmly packed light brown sugar
1 tsp salt
2 [100g] eggs
1-3/4 cups [210g] unsifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups [340g] Guittard Butterscotch Baking Chips
1-1/2 cups [170g] toasted pecan pieces (optional)
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8” X 8” pan. Mix flour and baking powder in a small bowl and set aside. In a large bowl beat together melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla and salt until very smooth. Add flour mixture all at once. Add butterscotch chips and pecans (optional). Stir mixture until smooth. Spread batter into prepared pan. Bake for 25-30 min. Edges will be golden brown and top will be soft to a gentle touch. When fully cooled, cut into desired size and number of pieces.
